Three Croatian internationals shone over the weekend in top leagues: Joško Gvardiol continues his scoring streak for Manchester City, Josip Stanišić nets his first of the season for Bayern, and Lovro Majer ends a three-month drought for Wolfsburg.

Manchester City dominated Sunderland 3:0 (Dias 31′, Gvardiol 35′, Foden 65′) at the Etihad, closing to two points behind Arsenal in the Premier League. Gvardiol headed in the second goal in the 35th minute from Foden’s corner, playing until the 70th – his second league goal this season after last week’s against Crystal Palace (3 goals, one assist total).

Bayern crushed Stuttgart 5:0 in Bundesliga Matchday 13 (Laimer 11′, Kane 66′, 82′-pen, 88′, Stanišić 78′), extending their lead to nine points over Leipzig. Stanišić came on at halftime and slotted home the third in the 78th from the left flank – his first goal in 20 appearances (2 prior assists), confirming his reliable substitute role.

Wolfsburg beat Union Berlin 3:1 (Wimmer 10′, Amoura 30′, Majer 59′; Nsoki 68′), climbing to 14th and escaping relegation danger. Starting Majer made it 3:0 in the 59th from Eriksen’s free-kick assist – his third goal this season (3 assists), ending a drought since September 5 against Heidenheim.
