MARIO PAŠALIĆ CONTINUED HIS STREAM IN THE UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Croatian national team player Mario Pašalić was the only scorer for Atalanta on the road at Club Brugge, in the battle for the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

In the first match of the playoffs for a place in the round of 16 of the elite European club competition, Club Brugge defeated Atalanta 2:1 on their field with goals from Jutgla in the 15th minute and a penalty shot by Nilsson in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

The temporary equalizer for the team from Bergamo was brought by Vatreni striker Mario Pašalić, who in the 41st minute headed Zappacosta’s cross into the net. It was his third goal in the third consecutive game in the Champions League, and with a total of seven goals for Atalanta in that competition, he equaled the record of Zapata and Ilicic.

Pašalić was replaced in the 63rd minute, and the return match in Italy is scheduled for February 18.
