Lokomotiva and Dinamo‘s young teams failed to qualify for the UEFA Youth League‘s round of 16. They were beaten on penalties by Sturm from Graz and Barcelona.
The guests from Austria in Zagreb took the lead in the 35th minute of the match, when Osayantin punished a mistake by Lokomotiva’s defense, and Đurković took care of the tie at 1:1 in the 72nd minute, after Pavlović’s cross from the left side.
Therefore, penalty kicks were taken, with Sturm being more successful. Goalkeeper Lorenzo Katić’s defense in the second series proved crucial, considering that all the other performers shook the net.
Dinamo was visiting Barcelona and took the lead in the sixth minute with a header from Jakirović, but Alba responded immediately. After half an hour of the game, Jakirović scored his second goal with a header, but before the break, the home team equalized at 2:2 through Junyent.
There were no further goals, and this match was decided by penalties. A mistake in the second series was also crucial. Kochen saved Baković’s attempt, and all Barcelona players were precise.
