GVARDIOL’S FIRST GOAL OF THE SEASON FOR MANCHESTER CITY

Croatian international Joško Gvardiol scored his first club goal of the season in Manchester City‘s dramatic 3:2 victory over Leeds United in Premier League Matchday 13.

City started like lightning – Foden opened the score in the 1st minute, and Gvardiol tapped in 2:0 in the 25th minute from a goalmouth scramble, showcasing offensive instinct from defense. Leeds equalized 2:2 in the second half, but Foden secured three points for the champions in the 93rd minute (Foden with two goals and one assist).

Gvardiol played the whole match (90+ minutes), continuing impressive form with three prior assists – indispensable in Pep’s rotation as left-back/right center-back. Mateo Kovačić was absent due to injury, awaiting return to the team, fighting for the top after a weaker season start.

Gvardiol’s streak (goal + assists) makes him essential for Vatreni ahead of World Cup 2026 – a defender with goalscoring instinct.
