GROUPS DRAWN FOR THE PRE-QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE 2027 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, CROATIA WITH DENMARK AND NORWAY

On March 14, at the FIBA headquarters, in the House of Basketball in Mies, the groups for the second round of pre-qualifications for the 2027 World Cup were drawn.

Croatia, Bulgaria, Denmark, Hungary, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Slovakia, and Ukraine—the countries that did not qualify for the European Championship from the last stage of qualification—are joining the second round, while Austria, Romania, Switzerland, and Norway advanced from the first round.

Twelve national teams have been drawn into four groups of three, and the top two from each group will advance to the European qualifiers for the 2027 World Cup. The pre-qualifiers are played between August 2 and 20, 2025, and each team will play four matches, namely two home and away matches against each opponent in the group.

RESULTS OF THE DRAW:
Group A:
Ukraine, Slovakia, Switzerland
Group B: Hungary, North Macedonia, Romania
Group C: Bulgaria, Netherlands, Austria
Group D: Croatia, Denmark, Norway.
