The Croatian U-21 national team gathered before the friendly tournament in Doha, which will be held from March 17 to 26.
The Croatian U-21 national team will participate in the International Cup in Doha. The tournament will be held from March 17 to 26, 2025, and in addition to Croatia, the national teams of Thailand, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Qatar will perform.
Coach Ivica Olić will lead the young national team in the first gathering of a new generation of players, including many talented footballers born in 2004 and younger.
A new cycle is starting for us—the first gathering of the generation in which there are a lot of players aged 2004 and younger. I am especially looking forward to our first gathering because we have a lot of new players, and for sure, friendly matches like this one in Doha are significant for us to get to know each other and get a bit of a bigger picture. That’s why we have 24 players and these friendly matches, so I’m looking forward to that new cycle. The ninth month, when we expect matches that will be very important for us, namely the qualifying matches
The national team will travel to the tournament with 24 players; the only change in the list occurred due to injury.
For now, everything is fine, only Markanović dropped out, who got injured; I hope it’s not something more serious on his knee, and he’s the only one who is unfortunately not with us from this list. So we’re going with 24 players as planned,d and I’m looking forward to this tournament – Ivica Olić
