THE FIRST U21 TRAINING OF THE REPRESENTATIVE COUNTRY IN DOHA: WE ARE CREATING NEW FRIENDSHIPS AND WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
The young Croatian national football team has started preparations for the international tournament “International Cup” in Doha. In the next ten days, they will play three friendly matches against Australia, Egypt, and Thailand.
The Croatian under-21 national team held its first training session at the Qatar University training complex in Doha.
Today is the first training session. We just got together. It’s a new team, and the trip to Doha was nice. We’re making new friendships and excited about these three matches. It’s a nice atmosphere, the staff is the same, and new players have gathered, and we can’t wait for the games – Šimun Hrgović
Hrgović is one of the few players from the last cycle. At the same time, the coach, Ivica Olić, will start playing the new generation through this tournament, which will appear in the qualifiers for the 2027 European Championship in Albania and Serbia.
The selection explained everything, and we are also a bit older who were in the last process to help the new players with some things,” added Hrgović while preparing for the friendly match against Australia, which is scheduled for tomorrow, March 19, at 8:30 p.m. local time. We haven’t looked at the opponents yet, but we have analyzed and are preparing slowly, one match at a time. It is a new team, and we all need to get to know each other and prepare – concluded Hrgović
