SANJIN ŠPANOVIĆ (1986-2025): JOURNALIST, DINAMO, PUBLICIST

After a long and arduous battle with illness, Sanjin Španović (born October 21, 1986) passed away at age 40, a prominent journalist, publicist, TV host, and key GNK Dinamo executive.​

Started in 2004 at Jutarnji list (following father Srđan), from city desk to front-page football analyses, reports from Lebanon, Libya, South America (Times, The Sun). Peak with Veto show on Jabuka TV and N1 – interviews with political/social leaders, record viewership, and citations.

Office head for president Velimir Zajec (from April 2024), later communications director – strategic advisor during the election campaign and management. “You lived Dinamo with full lungs” – Dinamo’s tribute highlights his energy, cheerfulness, and principles.

Author of “Zeko – Velimir Zajec Biography” (2023/2024), detailing the captain/coach/director’s career, romance, and tragedy of football life. Bookmarked by chapters on Dinamo’s first board and pivotal history moments.

Španović – symbol of passion and professionalism: from pitchside reports, TV provocations, to Dinamo diplomacy. “Where he decided to go, he went all the way” – defeat was never an option.
