LUKA MODRIĆ INTRODUCED IN MILAN

Luka Modrić has been officially unveiled as a new AC Milan player, marking a significant moment for both the club and Croatian football fans.

The 39-year-old midfield legend was presented to the media and thousands of enthusiastic fans at Casa Milan and later at San Siro, where he donned the iconic red-and-black shirt and greeted supporters with gratitude and excitement.

After 13 highly successful years at Real Madrid—where he won six Champions League titles and became the most decorated player in the club’s history—Modrić signed a contract with Milan that runs until June 2026, with an option to extend for another year. He shared that playing for Milan has been a long-standing dream, inspired by his childhood idol Zvonimir Boban, and that the opportunity to continue competing at the top European level motivated his decision to continue his career in Serie A.

At his press conference, Modrić emphasized his desire to bring experience, leadership, and a winning mentality to Milan, stating: “Milan always strives to win trophies and I hope we will show that kind of character on the pitch. The minimum target is qualification for the next Champions League, but we must also push to win trophies. That’s my aim.” He highlighted his commitment to humility, teamwork, and hard work, and expressed gratitude for the warm reception from both the club and the fans.

Modrić chose the number 14 shirt and will play his first game for Milan in an Italian Cup match against Bari on August 17. He joins a strong tradition of Croatian players at Milan and is determined to contribute to the team’s ambitions of returning to domestic and European glory.

His arrival has generated widespread excitement among Milanisti and has been welcomed as one of the most significant transfers of the summer.
