Dominik Livaković is back at Maksimir. After almost two and a half years away, the Croatia international goalkeeper has returned to GNK Dinamo on loan until the end of the season from Fenerbahçe, as the club officially confirmed in late January.

The return had been hinted at for some time, and Dinamo presented it as the arrival of a proven solution between the posts. Upon his arrival, Livaković immediately made himself available to head coach Mario Kovačević and the squad.
In a club interview, the goalkeeper highlighted the emotion and pride of coming back, saying he “returned a bit earlier than he expected” and that it feels “great to wear the Dinamo shirt again.”
Livaković wasted no time in making his return on the pitch—he played in a 3–1 win over HNK Vukovar 1991 and was welcomed with ovations from the stands.
The same interview also recalls his first spell at the club: before leaving, he made 293 official appearances and said one of his big wishes is to reach the round number of 300.
In a part that resonated strongly with fans, Livaković said he had offers from other clubs (Italy was mentioned in particular), but that he agreed terms with Dinamo’s leadership back in November—and after that, he “wasn’t interested in moving to any other club,” citing both sporting motivation and his emotional connection to Dinamo.
His return followed a loan spell at Girona FC, during which he did not play, and toward the end of 2025 there were also reports that he wanted a change of environment to secure continuity and maintain match rhythm ahead of major national-team commitments.
According to media reports, it is a loan until the end of the season, with early information suggesting the initial agreement did not include a mandatory purchase clause, along with a certain loan fee.
