The Croatian Football Federation will organize a camp this week in Osijek, exclusively dedicated to youth national team goalkeepers.

The four-day camp begins with a gathering and light training on Monday, August 4, and runs until Thursday, August 7. Around 20 of the best young Croatian goalkeepers will train under the supervision of top goalkeeper development experts on the fields of the NK Osijek camp within the Opus Arena. The camp will bring together goalkeepers from national team selections ranging from U-15 to U-19, and they will work with the Croatian Football Federation’s goalkeeper instructor, Hrvoje Sunara, as well as the goalkeeper coaches of those respective national teams.

The camp for goalkeepers will also be closely monitored by HNS’s chief instructor, Petar Krpan, and the technical director of the senior and U-21 national teams, as well as the celebrated former Croatian national team goalkeeper, Stipe Pletikosa. Mental coaches Ana and Igor Čerenšek, as well as the neuroathletics coach for sports performance, Tomislav Drvoderić, will also work with the invited goalkeepers.

I am very pleased that, for the first time, we will bring together our best young goalkeepers in this way and give them full attention. I believe such a camp will be of great benefit to their further development, helping them see where they can and should improve to one day become top-class goalkeepers. I thank NK Osijek and the academy director, Miroslav Žitnjak, for their cooperation and help with the organization, as well as all the experts from the national team selections who will participate in the camp’s work, and of course, the clubs that have made their goalkeepers available for this initiative. This camp confirms our focus on youth player development as a strategic priority of the Croatian Football Federation’s activities, and I believe it will become a permanent part of our calendar. – said technical director Pletikosa
