Borna Sosa signed a three-year contract with the English Premier League club Crystal Palace, which will keep him at the London club until the summer of 2028. Sosa comes from Ajax, where he previously played, and spent last season on loan in Turin. The transfer was officially confirmed on July 11, 2025, and the English and Croatian media state that Ajax received slightly more than two million euros for the transfer.
Sosa, who was born and raised in Zagreb, started his career at Dinamo and then played for Stuttgart, Ajax, and Torino before joining the Premier League. He made 26 appearances for the Croatian national team and scored two goals in the last four years.
Crystal Palace president Steve Parish expressed his satisfaction with the arrival of Sosa, highlighting his quality and experience. Sosa also stated that he is extremely excited about coming to the club and having the opportunity to play in the Premier League.
It is important to note that Crystal Palace, although it qualified for the Europa League this season, was kicked out of that competition due to UEFA’s rules on multiple ownership of clubs (owner John Textor has shares in both Palace and Lyon), so the club will instead compete in the Conference League.
