JUVENTUS WANTS LIVAKOVIĆ — BUT ONLY AS A BACKUP, DINAMO RETURN STILL MOST LIKELY

Juventus enters the race for Dominik Livaković – but only as backup goalkeeper.

Dominik Livaković’s disastrous loan at Girona ends January 1, 2026, with the Croatian international set to return to Dinamo Zagreb to regain form ahead of the 2026 World Cup, after failing to play a single minute under coach Michel. However, Italian media now report Juventus‘ interest in signing him as a reserve, following Mattia Perin’s potential departure to Genoa, leaving the club with Michele Di Gregorio as first-choice and the inadequate Nicola Leali as backup.

Livaković lost his starting spot at Fenerbahçe this summer, prompting his move to Girona, but he never featured and now prioritizes a Dinamo return to boost his national team prospects.

Juventus seeks a reliable deputy, with Livaković and Lazio’s Christos Mandas as top targets, per Tuttosport. Still, the Croat reportedly has no interest in a bench role and has promised Dinamo his return.

Despite the allure of Serie A, Livaković aims to be a starter, making a Juventus backup deal unlikely – Dinamo awaits his confirmed comeback to Maksimir.
