Bruno Petković has officially become the newest player of Turkish top-tier side Kocaelispor. Kocaelispor introduced him on July 16, 2025, through a video shared on their social media, putting an end to a months-long transfer saga during which negotiations had previously broken down due to disagreements over financial terms.
Petković joins as a free agent after terminating his contract with Dinamo Zagreb. The initial agreement with the Turkish club was called off because he turned down their offer of €1.5 million per year. However, after talks with Deportivo Alaves also fell through, Kocaelispor president Recep Durul personally traveled to Zagreb to reopen negotiations and successfully finalize the deal.
According to available information, Petković has signed a two-year contract, with an annual salary of €1.5 million plus bonuses—more than he earned at Dinamo. Kocaelispor presented him in an eye-catching video, which featured former Hajduk striker Tomislav Erceg, emphasizing strong fan support and club pride.
After all the twists and uncertainties, everything is now officially confirmed: Bruno Petković will continue his career at Kocaelispor, and the Turkish club has significantly strengthened for the new Süper Lig season.
