The head coach of the Croatian senior women’s handball team, Ivica Obrvan, has announced the list of players he is counting on for the upcoming 2025 World Cup playoff matches against Spain.
There are 19 players on the selectors list, with four more on the reserve list. Some of them can be called later if the need arises. The only change compared to the last gathering at the beginning of March is on the right wing. Along with Lara Burić, Josipa Mamić has recovered, and Nikolina Kragulj has been transferred to the reserve list.
The national team gathers in Zagreb on April 6 at 10:00 a.m. and immediately leaves for Prelog, where they will train and wait for the first match against Spain. He is scheduled for April 10 at 5:30 p.m. in Koprivnica. A day later, the national team flies to Spain for the return match in Algeciras, about 10 kilometers away from Gibraltar. That match will be played on April 13, that is, on Palm Sunday, at a rather unusual time of noon.
The winner of those two matches acquires the right to participate in the World Cup, which Germany and the Netherlands jointly organize from November 26 to December 14, 2025. We remind you that Croatia has participated in the finals eight times since 1995, when it first appeared at the world championships. She has missed the world championship seven times, the last time it happened was in 2019.
