Sad news for the world of handball. Zdravko Malić, a handball legend who dedicated a large part of his life to our sport, has left us. The former handball representative of Yugoslavia and player of Zagreb’s golden generation that dominated in the 1960s left an indelible mark in the history of handball.
During his prosperous career, Zdravko Malić held many important positions. He was the president of the RSJ professional association, national team selector and coach of numerous clubs: Zagreb, Celje, Rudar, Varteks, Križevci, Čelik, Borac, Trešnjevka, Modea Tuing. He spent part of his handball career in Italy.
Prof. Malić is the author of several books in the field of handball, as well as numerous professional articles and works published in Croatian and Italian professional handball magazines. He was a great friend of Croatian handball, a lecturer and teacher for many generations.
Eternal gratitude to Prof. Malić for his significant contribution to Croatian handball.
